check printing alignment in Web View

In Database View my cheques were printing perfectly aligned to the Blackbaud cheques we use. In Web View, not so great. How can I access the same printing template from Database View? I have tried the Alignment function in Web View but it's too limited to allow for acceptable use. I have to go from Web View to Database View just to run cheque properly.

Any advice?

  • @Glen Andrews good morning. our staff have to adjust every time they print. 100, 101, 99 %. it doesn't matter what system they use.

then we verify that the MICR line is placed correctly.

  • @Glen Andrews When I asked Blackbaud about this, the solution was to purchase their check stock and it would align properly.

  • @Carolyn White
Thanks for your reply. I have always used Blackbaud Forms to order cheque stock. Whatever template was set up for Database View hasn't transferred over to Web Base View.

Well I'm glad it's not just me experiencing this issue. This needs to be fixed as we don't have time to be messing with printing alignments. I will continue to print in Database view and hopefully Web Base printing will be figured out before they cut us off Database.

  • @Glen Andrews We are in the same boat. I spent over ½ hour printing to paper and holding up to the light to see if I have everything aligned (I export to word or excel, then start playing with the alignment). I thought I could make a template so that the next time I printed a check I could align using my template, but unfortunately they change every time depending on how many invoices you are paying on that check. It is beyond frustrating.

Which specific idea? I've found that there are multiple ideas that could be merged, but Blackbaud hasn't gotten around to doing so. I'd like to maximize the return on my vote by voting for the idea most likely to get Blackbaud's attention.

  • @Sarah Searle sorry the link didnt take you right to it. I opened all ideas for Financial Edge, then in the search typed in check align and then voted on as many as I could.

  • @Holly Jacques
Our crack IT Dept. has changed my print setting to 96% for printing cheques in NXT and it works perfectly now. No more alignment issues.

  • @Roberta A Gilbert
Hi Roberta. My printer setting was changed from 100% to 96% and it printed perfectly in Webview. Maybe try that.

  • @Glen Andrews Just tried this and sadly it didn't work for me. The bottom part of my check seems to print okay, it's the stub area that really prints off. I'll keep looking for answers. Thanks!

  • @Tanya Bakken - we have the exact opposite issue. The top is OK but the check itself is awful. The printing is so high on the check it can't be saved. I can try to change print setting % but I think it would make it worse. Will keep using DB while we can as those checks are perfect every time.
