Aatrix asking for state tax information

hello, is anyone else receiving this error message when running the Aatrix system?

“ Payee must have state wages/withholdings corresponding to their destination state. Confirm that the payee's destination state is set properly and that a matching state tax item is linked to the payee in question. If no wages/withholdings are to reported for the state in question, manually entering $0.00 for either the wages or withholding may be necessary to properly associate a payee with a given state.”

Active Errors (click to expand):

1-2-25 UPDATE- just tried running the test again on both 1099 NEC and 1099MISC. received the same error - called AATRIX help line and was told that they are not assisting with this error, until we are ready for LIVE submission. also told me that a fix is coming, but cannot give a date on it.

1/15/25 update, we were able to bypass the error, since it was no longer a “RED” error, but had turned “YELLOW”. called support and they explained that it is being worked on to totally clear it.

    Hi All,

    I know this topic was from last year but I am running into again today. I have an error message that states "this states requires a state item with an account number to be associated with it…" The state is Vermont and I no clue how to obtain this states number or for that matter any other states. I am currently no able to bypass this error and I have reached out to Aatrix and currently waiting for a response.

    Any resolve on this it's the 27th and I can't process my 1099's I am stuck at the state and local tax items section.

    I heard back from Aatrix and there was much back and forth with the answer they gave. In the end they told me to contact VT for the number or enter a dummy number (all 999) and not e-file or change the filing state to another state. So that did not help me and I ended up contacting the state of Vermont tax division and they were also no help. According to VT tax division, I don't need the number unless we (in Wisconsin) withheld VT state tax.
