Is there a way to use PRIMARY SALUTATION (from database view) on NXT for email personalization? Or is there a way in database view to copy the PRIMARY SALUTATION field to NICKNAMES? On NXT, the only options for personalizing an email (Dear Mary, ie) are using FIRST NAME or PREFERRED NAME (NICKNAME on database view). Most of my constituents don't have a nickname entered. I would like the emails address to Mr. and Mrs. Smith if that's what's appropriate.

    the limitation on RENXT marketing email is a real issue. I'm sure you heard it many times now, submit an idea in ideabank and get vote, however, we can see sometime this isn't exactly what Blackbaud going to work on even with high vote:

    What you are thinking can be done:

    • manually through export > import on a “regular” basis.
    • partially automated (automated to create an import file for only those constituent records that needs to be updated) and then use import
    • fully automated (i suggest start with an “import” first as stated on the first bullet point), on changed constituent that need updating. Can use Power Automate and SKY API for this

    We are having exactly the same problem Julie and didn't realise the issues with sending RENXT email marketing until we saw we had sent our thousands of ‘Dear ,’ emails. Nightmare. Our issue was the same in that it didn't pick up nicknames. I think the only workaround for us will be to add the constituent first name also into the preferred name/nickname field if it is currently blank. Not ideal but will save us time in the long run.
