Automated Processes

Good morning,

I received the email below this morning. Blackbaud recommends reviewing when we have automated processes running but they didn't send any link with instructions. How is everyone going about reviewing your automated processes? Is there a way to view everything that runs overnight?

Thanks,

Tamara

As part of our ongoing commitment to security, beginning February 17, 2025, security patching updates will be scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays (11:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. local time) one to two times per month. During these security update windows, we will remediate vulnerabilities, mitigate potential threats, and solidify ongoing cybersecurity best practices. By isolating Mondays and Wednesdays to security only updates, we will reduce the number of changes occurring within the same maintenance window which will improve efficiency and help us identify and resolve incident root causes more quickly.

While the total number of updates per month is not increasing significantly, we are separating security updates from other planned updates which will continue Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Based on your product suite, some customers may experience one to two more days a month with planned maintenance updates.

Please note: Your organization may need to modify automated processes you have running during published Monday/Wednesday security maintenance windows.

What is not changing

  • Infrastructure and application updates will typically occur Tuesdays and Thursdays (11:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. local time).
  • Non-geolocated maintenance will typically occur Sundays from 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. ET (i.e., payments, emails and non-geolocated products such as eTapestry).
  • Subscribers in your organization will continue to receive maintenance notification emails and planned maintenance will be posted on https://maintenance.blackbaud.com/.
  • Blackbaud will continue to perform critical patching and other urgent updates as needed outside of the typical standard maintenance windows.

We value your continued partnership in 2025.

“Automated processes” would include scheduled jobs for Global Changes, Smart Fields, KPIs, and Exports. The “Last Run On” date provides a quick spot check for recurring jobs.
