Mailings

Good morning,

We have been keeping track of our mailings in the attribute tab of RE. It's starting to look very messy! Is there a way to organize this more efficiently?

@Shannon HarnettSmith Welcome to the BB Community Forums.

If the mailing is an ask for a donation we record it as an appeal. This can also get messy. I find it's important to put a date on the appeals for clarity and ability to sort (in db view anyway). They can be added globally and/or by linking query.

The logical place IMO is Actions >Mailing. . And in web view one can filter/sort to see but lists do get long for some records very quickly.

@Shannon HarnettSmith Yeah, I would not use Attributes. If the mailing has something to do with giving, I would as someone else stated, use the Assigned Appeal. You can globally add that to the records you pull from a query or RE MAIL. If the mailing is not an ask, like Save the Date, Annual Report, use the Action Tab. Again, you can do that globally.

  • @Shannon HarnettSmith Hi Shannon, if the mailing is to a “mass list” then we load it under Appeals, ensuring to add date and notes about what it was for. Generally I've found that a newsletter with no ask will still prompt gifts, and if you add it to appeals, you can then make that connection and report accordingly.
