Webview Giving Statemnent

Does anyone know what the difference is between gift amount of payments and contribution amount of payments? This is what it looks like when I ran as single statement in webview.

Thank you!

  • @Jolynn Uyehara it's probably the difference between what was pledged and what was paid. I would suggest looking up that particular donor and finding a $2,500 transaction and seeing what type of transaction it is

For us it's the difference between the totals for gift amount and gift receipt amounts.

For example, at our org we use a 3rd party app for credit cards, and when a donor covers the credit card they get an auto receipt that shows the full amount they paid. To match our receipts/thank you letters with the automatic ones, we include the fees covered in the receipt amount in RE, but but the real donation amount in gift amount.

When I print out the statements for these folks, the contributions amount is showing the total of the receipted amounts I've entered where as the gift amount shows the actual dollars donated.

For example, here is a donor who covered the .75 fee 7/10 times. His total actual gift amount was $100. But his total contributed with the fees he covered was $105.25.

    Hope this helps thanks!

  • @Jolynn Uyehara The contribution amount is the receipt amount, or the portion that is tax-deductible.

  • @Rachel Kauer that makes sense - thanks. We only enter 100% charitable donations so it didn't even occur to me to think about gift amount v receipt amount
