Mark Account as "Contra"

One of our asset accounts is not appearing on the Balance Sheet, so I believe it needs to be marked as “contra” but the knowledgebase article is from 2015, so I'm not sure if it's accurate. I don't see where “Configuration” is.

@Andrew Martinez, thanks for pointing this out, I will ask for an update on that KB. In webview, you will just go to General Ledger > Settings > GL Setup > Account Codes, find the account in question and click the ellipses to the left of it and select ‘Edit’. And you'll be able to mark the box for ‘Contra account' and Save.

  • @Nikki Baldwin Thank you. I made the update, but that account is still not pulling into the Balance Sheet. I'm not exactly sure how to figure that out.

@Andrew Martinez, it sounds like it might not be included on the report for a different reason, like a filter or it's possible it's not on the Chart Organizer that you're using to run the report. You can do a Chart Validation report to see if it's missing on that Chart Organizer and then add it there so it pulls into the report. You could also switch the chart organizer to the ‘default’ option and see if it shows there because that will also tell you what the chart validation report would, that it's missing from there. If it's not the chart organizer, I would look at additional filters you have on the report parameters.

  • @Nikki Baldwin adding it to the Chart Organizer worked! Coincidentally, I have a Chart Organizers class tomorrow. Thanks!
