what is with the two code authentication EVERY log in

OMG this is SO ANNOYING!!!

It used to be maybe once a month

Or once every two weeks

I could handle once a week

But ever LOGIN - what the heck is going on Blackbaud…trust the browser, it is ME…cut it out!!?

    @Joanne Felci - On average I have to do it once a daily, sometimes I luck out if I've been in the system in the last 24 hours it won't ask me again. Do you have it set up to send a code to a cellphone or do you get the code off an authentication app?

    @Joanne Felci - If you can switch it, I recommend the authentication app route.

    @Joanne Felci I know we had this show up for our Microsoft products and my IT team said that Microsoft was forcing MFA starting in 2025 so that could be why it is showing up more often now.

    @Joanne Felci At work on my computer I only have to do this about once a month, but when I work at home on my computer, it is every time. I found the who two-step authentication ANNOYING AS HELL to begin with. If a hacker wants to get into your computer, this will not stop it. Just another annoying tech thing in the day and age, yet how many times do you get messages about companies, hospitals, etc. that get breached with your information. I

    Everyone in our office is experiencing this same situation: at the office, the two-step authentication requirement is much less frequent, but still more than once per week. But when working remotely, on the road or at their home office, they are prompted almost every time they log in. Even when they have timed out without closing their browser. This happens regardless of browser (using Chrome or Edge) or authentication method (authenticator app or one-time code via SMS). We've stopped complaining because, you know, it's Blackbaud. Bugs, glitches, data breaches…it's their thing.

  • @Joanne Felci When this started happening last year, I did a support chat. They told me it's because my IP address changes. That cannot be it because sometimes, I have to log in 3 or 4 times a day and there are days where I have to do that every time that day. My IP changed 4 times in 1 day? If it that IS the case, wouldn't it also be the case with all other log ins we have to other sites? It's maddening. And now I started to also get another confirmation - goes to my email, put that number in, then I get the one sent to my phone. Exceptionally annoying!
