Making a field be required before posting-Grant Field

Good Morning, we have gone through several changes in our enviroments within Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and now we are trying to implement another one. For a while now, we have renamed the “Grant” field to be used as “Staff”. While I have setup for accounts to default to the value “Team” under the “Staff” field, it doesn't appear that the system has required it to have some sort of value in it before posting. Ocassionaly we may change the default to a specific last name, but I want to make sure that it requires something in that field before posting so we don't have anything blank.

Any ideas? Can this be updated through the “Web View” or only in the “Database View”? Thanks!

    @Brandon Groce, if you navigate to Control Panel > Fields and Tables and locate your transaction code of ‘Staff’ on the ‘System Fields’ tab, you can edit it to be required there. Just click the ellipses to the left of the field, select Edit, and mark the box for Required, then Save.

    Thanks so much! Do you know if it's possible to allow this to be required for some accounts while others it may not require it? Or is it kind of a all or nothing situation?

    @Brandon Groce, yeah this is one of the all or nothing fields regarding requirement – it will be for all transaction lines across ledgers. I know you said you had a default of ‘team’ but you could always make a ‘N/A’ (or something similar) value available, should a transaction not have a specific value to place.
