Contact table fix pushed out in late January is not an improvement.

The contact table fix pushed out in late January has made already problematic functionality even worse. There must be a better way to fix this other than just making us add more contact tables for different roles. It seems like it was a quick fix rather than a good fix. I encourage the team to keep working on this.

Hi Carol, How were you even made aware of a contact table “fix”? We are already live with our forms and using the “Is Primary” tickbox version which I think is awful, but then I learned there was some changed pushed out we were supposed to adopt, but how would we even know this?! The people I heard it from heard it from the consultant they are paying, who is the same consultant we paid in December who told us to do it the other way. How can this be the way things are communicated?! Just wondering how you learned about it and how you are approaching your forms now.

Hi Kate. I am forcing myself to watch every webinar they do related to the new portal. I've found they make “side comments” about features that are as helpful as the intended content. I learned about the contact table “fix” during the “how to import forms” session. They said the fix was coming the next week so I knew to look for it.

  • If helpful to anyone out there, the contact tables I am referencing for primary contacts on the Organization and Request record are the following:

Organization 01 Primary Contact Table (bbgm_ORG_CONTACTS_ROLE_72_TABLE)

Request 01 Primary Contact Table (bbgm_REQUEST_CONTACTS_ROLE_72_TABLE)

After our forms were live and I realized our records were not being updated with a new contact for the organization and request based on the new application, I edited the forms to include these contact tables rather than the ones that I originally was told to use, which include the “Is Primary” tickbox (Form field: Request Contact Table (bbgm_REQUEST_CONTACTS_TABLE)).

Using the new Primary Contact Tables have solved my issue, though I think if you have multiple roles you are gathering data for that is another level of concern.
