New Record - Blank Address Data with Omatic Import

Has anyone figured out a way to avoid the blank row of data being added in the Address table upon creation of a new record in RE/NXT? Specifically when doing an import through Omatic?

    RE constituent will have at least ONE address record, so if you are creating a new constituent record but has no address info to fill in, there will still be ONE address record with blank address info on it, can't avoid this.

    Thank you for confirming, Alex. I am getting the same feedback on my post in the Facebook group. This goes against every fiber of my system admin being-- I can't think of a single reason why anyone would want a line of related data with a blank value on a record. ?

    @Cara Valentine I am wondering if you could change Address Type to something like No Address so that you know to separate real addresses from no addresses in your exports? Just a thought

    We use “no valid address” for that purpose

    @Alex Wong Sadly, we don't have a great procedure in place for this checkbox. It seems as if we are using this support our solicitable vs. unsolictable count and the selection is also based on if the person record has an active email or phone.

    Still deciding how I want that to be moving forward.

    “No Valid Address?” is a single checkbox for a constituent record, not tied to any address. As you are aware, an address record is a one-to-many relationship with Constituent, meaning there can be more than one address for a constituent, while there can only be ONE preferred address.

    For us, we use ‘no valid address’ when we no longer have any valid mailable address for the constituent, while a preferred address is a requirement to have, that address after being mailed to and returned as undeliverable, we will mark the constituent as no valid address=checked/yes.
