Split Gifts

How are split gifts coded in the system? Do you all receipt gifts separately or combine as one? If so, how is this managed within the system to alleviate multiple receipts being sent?

lol.. i probably shouldn't have deleted my original response then.

gift split is a one to many relationship with a gift, so if you are using receipting as RE defines it, dbview or webview, it will only produce one receipt per gift, regardless of splits.

if you are doing it more “manually” b/c you want to bring in details such as what fund the gift was applied to in the receipt, then you need to be careful about how you produce those data and then potentially manually do wordmerge (or automation) to create the receipt.

If you output split data in a query, you will get multiple rows per split, potentially receipting per split.

So the answer to your question depends on your processing.

@Drakea Brehon Our split gifts do not have any special code. One receipt per gift regardless of splits.
We receipt thru mail > receipts with the data pull to be the amount and fund name for each ‘split.' So our receipt will either list the one amount and fund the donor gave to or will list each amount and each fund. Has worked fine for us. We also include a merge field that reflects the full receipt amount with the charitable contribution statement.
