I have a Canadian donor that would like to set up recurring donations using her Canadian Credit Card…Is that possible in either RE or RENXT?

    Hi @Lucy Ann Gossett are you looking for a class to help with this or do you want to ask a general question of the Raiser's Edge community? If it is the latter I'm including @Crystal Bruce here so she can move this lovely question for you.

    I only have a few international sustainers and they are not from Canada. They also might have US credit cards. I want to make sure you get the best possible community support for your issue :)

    @Lucy Ann Gossett No worries! It is easy enough to do! I just want you to get the most and best responses possible and in this case that isn't me :) Do you have RE or RENXT? I would think this would do well in the RENXT thread as most people there are familiar with both.

    @Lucy Ann Gossett This isn't an RE issue, but a merchant services issue. Simply put, you should be able to accept any credit card that your merchant services can process. If you're using Online Express or the RE NXT donation forms, you're going to be using BBMS, and the information about what payment cards that can be used are found here. There may be a conversion done on funds originating from other currencies.

    We do have BBMS. Is it the same for setting up a recurring monthly gift using the Canadian Gift Card for a specific amount such as $10 monthly on the 15th of the month?

    @Lucy Ann Gossett There doesn't seem like there would be a problem. As long as the gift gets processed it sounds fine.

    @Lucy Ann Gossett I wonder if you have a donor that wants to do this for you and would be willing to test it out. As @Dariel Dixon stated there shouldn't be a problem. It would give you reassurance and the donor would feel like they are helping and instilling trust!

    You can accept Canadian credit cards in RENXT and RE, we recommend using RENXT for this so you can take advantage of the automatic processing.
