I would like to get some support on the allocations module as I am having a struggle getting what I want. The support team is all so new and they have no clue on the older functionality. Also, it seems as all talk of developing this in NXT has been stopped as I see no new posts about it. Can anyone comment on this?

    @Mary Ryberg We are not users of allocations. It seemed to cause us more problems than it was worth. Rounding issues was the problem and we would get ‘distribution needs to be 100%’ problems. When we stopped using the allocation we didn't have that problem. However now with NXT that message seems to be coming back again.

    I did have a call with some people awhile back saying they are developing allocations and wondering what people wanted. Told them the problem and mentioned that we would input statistical unit stuff if we could report on statistical units. Ie. number of tickets with the revenue dollars.

    Maybe they are working on it or not. But they need to solve the ‘distribution needs to be 100%’ error message because once they get rid of Webpurchasing and database view, I won't know what to do to make some of these things work.

    @Mary Ryberg Hi Mary, we use these functions and rely on the ability to have multiple pools and to compute on 12 trailing quarters. Our issue is that we heard that some of the current functionality (including the two we just mentioned) will not be supported in NXT and that we would need to buy from NPact, the cost quoted us is $9500 a year. We are stumped. Have you heard any more since the date you posted this?

    @Sylvia Cook what do you mean “once they get rid of Webpurchasing and database view?” We have not heard that they are getting rid of Webpurchasing.

    @Shelly White Haha.. scary thought isn't it? My understanding it is one of the last things to go, so you have some time, but I don't know the final end date. Webinvoicing is Expense Management in NXT. Purchase orders have started it's way over to NXT, same with receipts (receiving) but requisitions aren't there yet. At least not for us.

    We are using what we can in NXT to get used to it and find out about problems. If we have a problem in NXT, we will go into Webpurchasing.

    Once you are used to NXT, having everything in NXT is really nice. You can trace POs, receipts, and invoices all in the same environment. But we have come across glitches, which have been reported to support to fix.

    @Sylvia Cook wow I used it for YEARS at a prior org so am really surprised - it can save so much time.
