How are you recording and reporting on volunteering in 2025?

We have been recording volunteer information in the volunteer tab of RE7 for years, and we are mainly recording;

  • the department that was volunteered for
  • the volunteer category
  • volunteer task
  • volunteer type
  • start / end dates.

Outside of that we are not really recording much further detail, which we are keen to start doing!

Given that there doesn’t seem to be a way to report on volunteering in NXT dashboards, what are your top tips for recording and reporting on volunteering? Are the standard volunteer reports any good? Do you generally end up having to rely on building queries anyway? Have you abandoned the volunteer tab and found a better way of doing things?

I haven’t seen any recent posts on this topic, so I am interested to hear any suggestions! ?
