Letter Box If Statement Help

Hello! This is pretty in the weeds, but I am trying to do a conditional format in RedArc's Letter Box that will fill in whether the gift is a gift or a pledge, but something is wrong with if statement. Can you help?

This is what I have: {{#if (compare Gift.type "===" "pledge")}} pledge{{else}} gift{{/if}}
