Lifetime Giving Count from the API

Is there any reason why the Lifetime Giving Count from the API wouldn't match the total found in Database View Giving Summary? Does the API have something different about what it is counting? Thanks.

    @Chris Zello, I’d have to doublecheck this, but I believe the variance is soft-credits. I don’t think the API counts soft-credited gifts towards a constituent’s total gifts.

    I noticed that Matching Gift Payments were not included in lifetime giving. You might want to check those. I think Soft Credits are included just not matching gifts.

    Does the API not have a soft credit amount endpoint yet? I'm waiting for this answer from Blackbaud because we are working with a vendor and trying to find the soft credit endpoint and we are looking everywhere.

    @Lora Lowe Soft credits are returned as an array from a get gift call. Documentation is here. There is not a separate endpoint just for soft credit information that I am aware of.

    The way lifetime giving count from API works is based on what Blackbaud coded as giving info, which can greatly differs from your org's calculation. I suggest you take a look at the constituent page on webview, there a giving tile with lifetime giving that you can compare to. The API returns the same as what that tiles give .
