Report for daily record changes in database or NXT view

Hi,

We have user-level access for fundraisers and event management members, and sometimes they need to make constituent record changes.

I was wondering if there is a report that can be run to see who made what changes on a given day, which is helpful for people who are handling the data in other ways.

Does RE have anything like that in a database or NXT side?

Thanks

  • Thank you @Christine Robertson for the shout out.

@Payal Sen As Christine said, Audit Trail will track changes that are made across Raiser's Edge so that you can report on who made the change, when it was made and what the values were before and after the change. Please feel free to get in touch via our website and I or one of my colleagues would be happy to answer any of your questions: www.zeidman.info

I have an audit query set up that I review regularly. Mine is focused on new constituents added but you can query on the date last changed as well.

I output the added/updated by field in the query so that if I find a user who is consistently not following our business processes for adding constituents I can follow up and coach them on our business processes.

Also, I use a recurring Microsoft Planner task with the link to the query attached to remind me to review the query monthly.

  • @Hallie Guiseppe Thank you for your response Hallie.

I use the term “audit” but it is simple a query that I use to audit data. You will set your criteria to pull the data you wish to audit (i.e. new records added or records updated last month)

Then output the information that will help you evaluate if the data meets your standards.

I will attach a list of data audits that @Austen Brown created a few years back. This may give you some ideas of other data points you may want to consider taking a look at regularly.
