I was wondering if it was possible to add gifts in Webview using barcodes scanning like in database view batch entry?

    it's possible where a QR code is invoking a webapp that calls SKY API to create gift record in RE NXT, however, what is your use case, and how are you going to determine various parameter for gift creation (i.e cosntituent info, gift amount, campaign, fund, appeal, etc)

    The barcode has the Constituent code, Fund and appeal info embedded in it. It works well in the DB view to add gifts paid by cheque, but not so for gifts paid by credit card.

    If I understand you correctly, you print barcode on envelope of your mailer to donor, and when they donate by returning this envelope, it has your org's specific constituent code, fund and appeal in form of a barcode, which your data entry team scan and the scanner picks up these 3 info that will be “typed” by the scanner into the gift batch fields, the rest of the info that is required to enter gift (i.e. which constituent, gift date, gift amount, etc) are manually enter by your data entry staff.

    That sounds about what you currently have?

    I asked this in a recent PUB and was sent the following info afterwards - which I hope you find useful - this is something we currently make use of so are keen to see it replicated in WebView ?:

    Question: will barcode functionality work in gift batches?

    Answer: We do not yet have plans for the barcode functionality in the web view grid batch. We will be tracking the item in our ideabank to get a proper assessment as to the need there. With the planned import functionality into batch, we may be able to utilize that workflow to accomplish the same goal if we can scan the codes into excel and then import into batch.

    It has the constituent in the barcode as well, so the data team only needs to add the amount and date
