FENXT Accounts Payable Connector for use in Power Automate

I am trying to pay an approved invoice with a credit card using the "Update an invoice" action in a flow. The action completes successfully but does nothing to pay off the invoice and the invoice remains in an “Approved” status. I was able to pay an approved invoice with the SKY API endpoint “Edit Invoice” with a credit card and that worked fine. Why am I able to pay an approved invoice with the SKY API endpoint but not able to do the same with the FENXT Accounts Payable connector. Doesn't the connector interface with the SKY API endpoints? Has anyone else tried to pay an invoice with a credit card using the FENXT Accounts Payable connector? If the answer is the connector can't do that, then why are the credit card bank and credit card input parameters for the “Update an Invoice” action in the connector. The fact that they are there as input parameters suggests it can be done.

Hi @Ed Leiter - If this worked using the SKY API endpoint but not the connector action, it's like there is a bug in the connector. Please file a case with Support so this can get routed to the appropriate team for review.

  • @Ed Leiter Agree with Ashley's recommendation of getting a case filed with Support. In the meantime, is there any more detail you can provide (maybe a screen shot of your connector action with any sensitive values hidden)?

OK. Here is the frustrating part. I filed a case with Support on 4/23/2025. Case # 020060977. Support told me if this works using the SKY API endpoint, that is as far as they can go. They refuse to support the FENXT Accounts Payable connector because that is used in Microsoft Power Platform. I have reached out to my Customer Success Manager with emails about this case, and I get no response. I am not sure who else to turn to for a resolution. Other than contacting support do you have any other thoughts or ideas on how to address this shortcoming in the Blackbaud FENXT AP connector?

@Ed Leiter Microsoft notified us that the connector has been updated. Can you verify?

  • I can verify that the connector has been updated as of Friday 11/7. It is not exactly doing what I want it to do but it is getting closer. For example, the connector will now update the invoice record with a paid status when paying an invoice by credit card and indicate that the invoice was paid with the credit card. However, it does not change the invoice account distribution to reflect the GL liability account that is associated with the credit card.
