Setting Up Stage Two Applications

Hello! I've been trying to create a stage 2 application using the instructions in knowledgebase but so far I am unsuccessful and I am honestly finding the instructions a bit confusing. Does anyone know if there is a video demo of how to do this? I have been going to the office hours/webinars and don't recall seeing this. Copying the instructions I'm currently referencing below.

  • @Heather Hart I am having issues as well. I currently have a ticket with Blackbaud for help. When I know more, I will let you know! Please keep me posted as well :)

Glad I am not the only one! I will also open a ticket today if I cannot figure it out. I am adding both stage 1 and stage 2 to the workflow (I think) but it does not give me an option to generate stage 2 on the LOI when I consider it.

  • @Heather Hart I received this today Most forms that will work in the new portal will be either the Request or Progress Report type (for requests and requirements) . If that is the case then the LOI will not work for stages. Feel free to reach out directly to me conawayta@corning.com and maybe we can figure it out :)

  • @Heather Hart Hi! I think their instructions are over complicating it a little. Here's how I would describe our process:

    • Create any forms you need (LOI, preapplication, full application etc). Any form that is an “application” needs to be Request Type. Make sure each form is published.
    • Create a new program, walk through each section on the left side menu selecting your settings.
    • When you get to Forms, I suggest setting whatever your “first stage” form as default.
    • Then in Workflow don't get caught up in selecting one - you can't actually change them yet. Add your forms into the workflow in the order you want applicants to proceed. For instance, one of our flows looks like >General Eligibility>Concept Proposal (Stage 1)>Application (Stage 2)
    • In communications, update what emails you want turned on/off and then once you publish you can create a Your Cause account and test it as an applicant.
    • Then to generate the application once your stage one is considered go to the request that was created and click Publish Request form and it'll give you the choices in the program the request came in through.
  • @Tonya Conaway I did end up getting it to work! I'll email you. One thing I got caught up on FOREVER is that I was still looking for a generate stage 2 button, but it is now a Publish Request button so I kept thinking I had not set it up correctly.

Thank you for this!!! I did get thrown off by the over complicatedness of the instructions and also that we are now supposed to hit publish request instead of generate stage 2. I even found instructions on creating workflows and logged into a separate thing and started making workflows haha. Thank you for outlining this, I am certain it will help someone out there.
