Volunteers in NXT (not available in query)

I'm nervous, with queries not being available in database view beginning Feb 26. I attempted to run one of my volunteer queries in NXT and it is completely blank. What happens to the volunteer info we process in RE for years? Is the module moving to NXT?

@Debbie Atkinson I don't think everything for queries is finished in RE NXT, that is what I think.

My org doesn't use Volunteer module but I went and tested it out for you in my test environment.

I created a Job, and then created a volunteer record assigning this job to my constituent record.

When I run a constituent query in webview, I filter on the volunteer job and is able to get the query to show me the info.

Question is, what exactly not working fo ryou.

@Debbie Atkinson As @Joe Moretti said, query is not a finished product yet.

However, I would stay on top of it with BB. Reach out to your customer success rep and ask or ask any BB staff you have a connection with. If there's a suggestion in the idea bank, post it here and I and others will vote in support. We were told “ALL” the functions of db view would be brought over.

We got the volunteer module, were not thrilled with how it actually worked for us and change of staff person did not like it at all or want to use it. So, we quit using it and dropped it before a lot of work was done in it. From a BB course I attended when asked about the function of the module, the trainer said something along the lines of that there are partners who may offer a better functioning platform. Made me glad we had not invested more time than we did in the module.

@JoAnn Strommen Will do. Thanks. I already summitted a support ticket and the rep told me the volunteer module is part of a future update. I also have a meeting scheduled with our rep to review our renewal in August. I'll have the volunteer module on my list to discuss. It still makes me nervous that db view queries are ending in February 25 without all the db info available and tested.

No I do not work for BB. (but with so many people think I do, maybe BB should pay me … *wink* @Crystal Bruce)

I will try your specific criteria when I get a free moment and see if it works for me.

@JoAnn Strommen we had a similar eye-opening conversation with a trainer. When she explained that initially the Volunteer module was designed to help track and report on people who were required to complete certain volunteer hours or requirements (think community service)-the entire setup made more sense. It was absolutely nothing useful for us at the time, but it helped us avoid many (more) hours of frustration trying to make the module work for us
