Some Proposal Fields in Datatbase do not Carry Over to RE NXT

In the never ending saga of RE NXT, I have noticed more fields that are not carry over to RE NXT. In the Proposals (Opportunities in RE NXT), the field of Priority have not been moved over to RE NXT. We use this field and find it to be helpful and I am sure others use this as well. Also No Action, Media, Attributes and Notes field that are available in Database Proposal.

This is what is so FRUSTRATING with this move. For decades we have all used Database View and now Blackbaud wants us to use the more inferior RE NXT (inferior to database folks) but then not carry over certain fields or other functions. So far in RE NXT there is also no Action Tracks (and NO RE work flow are NOT the same thing to use as a substitute), What about the various Plug-Ins like “Delete Phones”, “Remove Blank Address Lines”, “Unpost Gifts”. What about the Address Finder in Database View, which is different from the Address Finder in RE NXT, where you do not have as much control as in Database.

If you are going to revert to RE NXT, everything in Database View should be in RE NXT, plus all the improvements that should have been done in Database View years ago. Most of what I am seeing as “new” in RE NXT, seems to be pretty useless and just more bells and whistles. AND why not just keep Database View for us techies as opposed dumbing us all down to RE NXT Level. While there are a few better things in RE NXT, they are few and far between. Myself and our Database Manager still work in Database 100% of the time, with a few exceptions.

FRUSTRATING! And I know I am not the only one of having RE NXT shoved down our throats.

Hi Joe, I agree 100%. I've been using database since Blackbaud switched from the DOS version! 30+ years. I work 100% in DBV. As long as DBV is available, that's where you will find me! I tried NXT and find it just doesn't work for me.

My biggest frustration is, while they're creating new accessibility for people to use the web view, they then disable what has worked for forever in database view. You can have a tool that works and looks differently for individualized experiences. Just because you create a new version for online usage, doesn't mean you have to get rid of the other version that also still works.
