Journal Entry Import Feature - Replacing Import File

This is a major internal control issue. When you run a new import, it saves the last import file that was used by someone in our department. If you inadvertently forget to “replace” the file, it will in turn duplicate the entry within the batch that has already been created. Within the template, the file should always be blank, with the necessity to upload a new file each time the template is utilized. The current set up can cause major issues.

@Ericka Rondeau, this is how the import parameter files also worked in database view, previously. Once you save a parameter with an import file, it stays there until you update it. When you save parameters, however, you can leave the boxes unmarked for ‘Other users may run this import’ and ‘Other users may modify this import’ (Basics tab) to prevent other users from seeing files you've previously used in a saved parameter, allowing only the user who saved the parameter file to utilize/access it and prevent any issues with internal controls. Hope this helps!
