Special Character limits

Posting on behalf of a client

I need to know if my website forms need to have special character limits e.g. (#*?>), as Raisers Edge won't accept them, or if all special characters are allowed?

for example a last name field may be "Thronton-Jones" so the "-" should be accepted, on the email field it @ should be accepted and in a free comments box it should accept characters such as ,?!$%&*^)(<>/"':;[]{}+_

This form will be managed through SKYAPI

SKY API is not going to be the problem when it comes to special characters (however, you should be making sure to encode them at times).

The issue is going to be what kind of special characters. RE, the underlying database has many field coded using data type VARCHAR instead of NVARCHAR, so meaning there are going to be some unicode characters that cannot be stored in RE.

Also not sure what you mean by "form will be managed through SKYAPI"
