New Consent Tile

Hi all

Has anyone else found the new Consent Tile a bit of a nightmare? We used categories for the different preferences e.g. Appeals, Events and Newsletters and we didnt have a top level Opt-in for the Channel. So when we opted someone into "Email" they got 3 consent records for each category. However now when we look at the record in NXT it displays the 3 categories but above it says "No overall channel consent found". So we need to now clean this all up. Anyone else having fun with this?

    We have this nightmare also - it's something we're probably going to have to look at too :(

    The worst part is that the consent history orders in the "date added" order for each consent - which would normally be fine but we merged another database into ours at the beginning of April so every single consent from that database, no matter when it was received is now dated 4th April 2025 and so the consent might have been received in 2020, the Date Started is 2020 and we might really have a more recent consent from them but because the import has put it in April 2025… it shows as the top entry on the tile. :(

    I have an ideas bank item for "ability to import historical consent" and another for "allow recording additional opt-in consent" because once you have opt-in consent for one category of communication, you can't add additional opt-ins later on each time that person reconfirms that consent.

  • I feel your pain. They did not think through their implementation of "global" opt-in/out settings. All of ours with blank Categories/Source entries were labelled as "global", but we didn't intend for them to be that way.
