How can I learn more?

You can review the public cloud relocation resource pageto learn more about important steps you will need to take before and after your scheduled relocation—to ensure a smooth transition to the public cloud environment.

Will there be any disruption in service during the relocation?

During the relocation, all users will need to be logged out and will not have access to the solution being moved into the public cloud. The downtime for your relocation will depend on your configuration and averages between 2-6 hours. We can provide a clearer estimate when we confirm your relocation date and time.

We look forward to hearing back from you. We are excited to help further your mission through our modern cloud solutions and look forward to your confirmation. Please let us know if you have questions.

Thank you,

Not sure why you did not receive the message, maybe check your spam if you haven't already.

In terms of the transition, they are really just changing where your data is stored from physical servers in one of several cities to the cloud. As far a I know it is not required for moving to the total web solution, rather they are slowly working to move all instances to cloud hosting. For us, the transition was seamless, it just was a change in the way we accessed database view and any hosted files.

That being said, we did not have any of the BB integrations (BBNC, Luminate, FE) and none of the 3rd party plug-ins we use were impacted. We also did not have any Crystal Reports. So, our experience may have been different than others and I presume others with that experience will chime in here too.

My experience was similar to Dan's - not much change for front end users; there are some preparations DBAs have to take on ahead of the move, but that's all covered within the provided documentation.

This initiative to move clients from BB hosted servers to Azure's has been going on for a number of years. BB recently changed tactics from asking if they could move a database, to tell you it's happening. You can tell them "no"; just expect to get another email in 3 months or so - and having to move eventually.
