Statement of Cash Flow

I'm trying to work on building our Statement of Cash Flow in FE NXT. I'm trying to have it look like our audited statement of cash flow, however, the one in FE is so much more detailed. I know we can add the chart organizer, but there doesn't seem to be a way to add the chart level, which would allow it to sum and be less detailed. What is the best way to create a less detailed summarized Statement of Cash Flow? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

  • That functionality is determined by the structure of your VCO. If you know which GL accounts are included in each summarized section of your audited Cash Flow Stmt, you should be able to replicate that, i.e. include those same accounts within one totaled section, in your VCO. Then when you save the VCO, you can choose the detail level. A higher level number means more detail, a lower number means less detail. (You can also choose the level in the report that uses it, but you need to first tell the report which VCO you want it to use.)

If you have your basic report saved, you can test your new VCO with it right from the VCO settings area.

I'm probably over-simplifying this, if you have never created a (Visual) Chart Organizer before. It does take some practice, and I would recommend asking a BB staffer here for the best link to learn from. (My links are all from when I did this in the database; the process is pretty much the same, but it looks totally different in NXT, and you should work with the latest documentation.)
