Text to give software

is anyone doing text to give anymore (you know text GIVE to 7344)

If so what software/company are you using? And do you like them?

I remember seeing this up for a previous job 10+ years ago and I cannot remember the company we used (they probably are not around anymore anyway) but I do remember the pain it was to get it set up

  • My org uses OneCause and it has worked well over the last few years. They are not integrated with Blackbaud but that's not a dealbreaker for us. Keywords are on a first come basis so depending on what keyword you want it might not be available but it's pretty easy to check what's available or not and claim a few keywords for different events.

  • thanks Dylan! We use OneCause - for auctions - is this is the fundraising package you are using with OneCause?

  • @Joanne Felci Yes I believe it's the fundraising package!

I know that Constant Contact has a text to give option. I don't know much more than that, but considering the integration option with RE, it is worth investigating.

Otherwise, I have personally never worked with an organization is doing text to give. Colleagues have, but they are using advocacy platforms that are suited for a very specific type of nonprofit.

  • We use Donr, although we don't use it much. We used to use instagiv and then they were bought out by Cymba I believe and the new pricing was ridiculous. Donr seemed a good priced platform for our needs.

Hi @Joanne Felci ! Yes, Constant Contact does have text to give, and like Karen mentioned, they integrate with Raiser's Edge NXT! Happy to connect you with someone at Constant Contact to learn more!

  • We are using GiveButter and in the past have used GiveBee. GiveBee was nice because we could direct them to our NXT online form; GiveButter directs them to the GiveButter campaign form (higher platform/transaction fees for us). GiveBee had a pretty antiquated-looking backend but could also be used for text messaging—one-time messages or asking a series of questions to collect data. (I always forget between text-to-give and text-to-donate which this is— not the one that bills direct to peoples' phone carrier, so I apologize if that is the type you are asking about)
