Hi, hi!

I am trying to create a workflow that will assign a stewardship action to a constituent in my portfolio when they give a donation. So far I have been able to create one for all constituents, but aren't able to segment them into my team's individual portfolios.

Has anyone else tried this and be willing to share the parameters they used? Thank you!

    I don't believe it is possible using the native workflow designer functionality in RE. There is no way to select a specific fundraiser, or even a specific fundraiser type. The only way to automate this would be to use PowerAutomate.

    You can do this within Workflow but there are numerous limitations. A few things to be aware of -

    • You'll need to have a constituent list feed this - recommend setting it up so Fundraiser = X, Last Gift = yesterday.
    • You'll need a separate list and workflow combination for each Fundraiser
    • Once a constituent qualifies for a workflow, they cannot qualify again. You'll periodically need to stop/republish the workflow in order for donors to requalify.
    • You cannot control the timing or frequency of the workflow; it will run daily in the early morning. This is why I recommend setting the Last Gift metric to yesterday. Constituents are only added in when the workflow runs.
    • Once a workflow is published, it cannot be edited directly - you must turn it off, copy it, make your edits, and then republish it.

    If you'd rather solve the use case without workarounds and limitations than Power Automate (PA) is the solution for you (as Karen also mentioned).
