Unsubscribe Link in Email

Our office (ACA) has one instance of RE NXT. However, since we have many of the same donors as other agencies in the Archdiocese, we also process those agency gifts on donor records - still just the one database.

Monthly our office (ACA) sends out an email to specific donors in our database. We have been getting requests from the other agencies we service to also send emails out, using our database, but specific to their donors (which could be ours as well.)

The problem we are facing is that at the bottom of all emails that go out, there is an Unsubscribe link. I cannot see a way to modify (not remove) this link. If we were to send an email for the Missions Office (who is one of the agencies we do gift entry for - again, using our database) to their donors, and a donor clicks unsubscribe, it will unsubscribe the donor from ALL email communication (including our ACA email) - not just email from the Missions Office.

I looked into creating channels/categories/solicit codes via business rules. I have all that setup, but there is still not a way to specify which agency email they are opting out of.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

  • This is a barrier for us as well, and I'm afraid I don't know of a way around it.

Make sure you visit the RE NXT Idea Bank and vote for associated topics. If you have time, please add a comment explaining your use case and why current features are preventing WV adaption. BB has mentioned that comments help them understand the issue from customer perspectives.

  • We have a very similar issue -15 schools in one RE database under the Arch-Office of Catholic Educaton. I've ussginfound as a workaround is to create a footer for our school's emails that has our school's information along with a note asking them to use "this" email link to unsubscribe from our school's email. I then edit the standard email with OCE's info and unsubcribe link to the smallest text possible simply so it's not as intrusive. It's not perfect but it's the best we can do because BB ties all of the default organization information to the TAX ID associated with the BB Account

  • I noticed a suggestion that said to put an Email Preferences link above the Unsubscribe banner at the bottom. We have implemented this, so maybe they will click that instead of the Unsubscribe.

Another thing we are looking at is setting up an email that sends the person a "Are you sure you want to Unsubscribe from everything?" so they can opt back in. Currently, the Unsubscribe button adds a Solicit Code and we've been monitoring it with a webhook in Power Automate.
