Crisis Management Systems

Hi everyone,

Our school is currently evaluating options for crisis management software and would really appreciate your input.

Could you please share what crisis management solution you’re currently using? We’re especially interested in integration with Blackbaud, and how that experience has been-both the pros and any challenges you encounter.

Thank you in advance for you time!

We use Ruvna.com. They have a direct integration with Blackbaud to read student, parent, and employee contact information. They can also read advanced lists to create/maintain membership in groups that can be used in sending announcements.

We use the Announcements and Accountability modules. They also have Attendance and Visitor Management modules.

Announcements send voice, text, and email messages to everyone or to the groups you specify.

Accountability is used during an on-campus crisis to track who is known to be safe and who is known to need assistance. It allows any employee to mark any student or employee as safe or not. You have the option to allow students to mark themselves safe, too. (Self check-in doesn't work so well if your students' phones are locked up in Yondr pouches.)

We have been very happy with the service.

  • Brian -

Thank you so much! Ruvna is a front-runner for me (we currently use CrisisGo), so I am glad to hear that you've had a good experience with it.

  • Have been with Ruvna for two years. I echo everything Brian wrote. Huge fan of Ruvna, the people there, their support (Backbaud could learn much from them) - Ruvna has made our campus safer and let me rest easier.

  • Scott and Kelsey, which modules do you use of Ruvna? We are looking for new solution ourselves.

  • @Kristin Heard - currently, we are using communications (awesome), accountability (twice as awesome), and have activated the new Request For Assistance, disabling the panic feature. The RFA has been great for us and provided a great solution to quickly pull in the necessary people in a situation.

We have not maximized the Visitor Management feature, yet, but I anticipate having that done soon. We are discussing attendance.
