Power Automate Copying Files from FTP- Not Overwriting

I have exports that run in Queue and they are saved into the Hosted Files folder (tenant path) and then I have a flow that copies them from there and saves them to a OneDrive folder. I am using Create File when saving them to OneDrive.

Yesterday and today they are NOT overwriting my files. It's odd, the date modified in my OneDrive is today's date but it doesn't have updated data. I looked at the files in the Hosted Files and those have updated data but the ones in my OneDrive folder are not updated. I can tell because of recent gifts aren't appearing.

Is this happening to anyone else all of a sudden?

  • This morning I noticed it is Queue that isn't completing the runs after all. Some are, some aren't. Just a warning if you are copying from Queue check your dates and make sure they did run and that it copied the updated data. I hope this doesn't turn into a bigger issue like none of them working in Queue.

RE Queue has always have some problem with runs not starting or finishing, which is reason why I removed it from my ETL process completely. Cannot be unreliable.

I understand you might be using Export module or Import module that export data, but most likely you can do with Query API, but it's going to be quite a task to update everything, may be better to wait for the "real" Export module API

  • @Carol Grant I am just beginning to recognize this happening to us as well. It may have started around the same timeline. I manually ran my specific queue this afternoon, opened up the FTP folder mid-stream and saw that some of my files were populated/writing. After receiving my successfull queue run notification, went back in to see that only 3 of my 10 files were there - even though I had seen many more mid-run.

Are you still having issues with this?

  • @Nicole Szydlo - Hi, yes I'm still seeing this issue. I had to rerun an export this morning that didn't run.

Do you have a flow that copies the files? That's where most of my issues are. One of my flows didn't even recognize that a file was changed so it didn't copy anything. I can't pinpoint the exact issue. I've tried to see if timing was the issue but I didn't find anything concrete. I do have some that are fine and copy.

    Good luck!

  • @Carol Grant yesterday I had all fresh files on FTP and only a portion of them updated/moved in power automate to my sharepoint location. After seeing what happened with the additional queue run mentioned above, I have suspicions that this is a Queue/FTP issue and not at the power automate junction. I'm filing a support case, but having nightmares about the last Queue bug this spring.

  • @Nicole Szydlo Correct, that's what happened to me. I thought it was Power Automate not working/copying but I could be wrong. Last spring was quite the nightmare, I do not want to re-live that for a month again!
