Parent Deceased

Hello! We have a family who filled out an application a couple of years ago. After a few months, dad passed away and mom declined the acceptance due to obvious reasons. Now, mom would like to reapply and she did. When processing the new application, should I update the first application? Thanks

I don't know the best practice specifically for reapplying and old applications in this scenerio, off the top of my head, but I'll see what I can find. Hopefully other community members can also chime in.

In the meantime, this help topic might also have some info to consider:

    Here's what I learned:

The best practice for this likely varies based on how the first application was handled.

Odds are, the candidate record for the original application and entering year was marked inactive. Thus, you shouldn't need to do anything with the application from that year. Just process the new application, which will link to the new entering year.

The first application is outdated, and, since the enrollment process never finished, the candidate record would likely have been inactivated since that first attempt.

The new application with the new entering year is thus probably the ideal way to proceed.

But since schools vary, yours might have handled that first application differently. Feel free to also start a customer support ticket if it's a different scenario.
