Best way to email parent in Academics?

What is a good way to email one family (parents and child) once they are in Academics? In Enrollment Management we used Official Notes - is there a good way to select one family, send them an email and have it recorded? Thank you! Kristen

@Kristen Peterka Here, we use Official Notes for this purpose in Academics, too. I've created two official note types: Student Highlight and Student Concern. Highlights go to student & parent (and advisor too) and the Concerns are internal only.

Can you please elaborate how you created the two official note types? And, when I write the name of the student for official note, it's showing me classes, not individual student. Am i missing some access?
