Duplicate first time recurring gift
When a person sets up a recurring gift for the first time two enters occur. One is more the direction, the other the payment; however, both are listed when we run reports even though only one is a payment. How do we remove the directional recurring gift without damaging the recurring process?

Check your report gift type filters. Do not include Recurring Gift, just Recurring gift pay. You will not want to remove the recurring gift record as that is similar to a pledge and you will link each future payment to it.

In your report filter out recurring gift pay, that is the actual payment.

depending on what you are reporting, you will want to include one or the other.
Like Pledge and it's Pay-*** gift types, you never want to include both.
So for recurring gift, you never want to include both Recurring Gift (direction) and Recurring Gift Pay-cash (actual gift).
