We Need More Customization/Filters for Tax Statements in NXT

The ability to send annual tax statements via email in NXT is an excellent and highly valuable feature. However, the current limitations around filtering and customization make it difficult — and in some cases impossible — for organizations with complex structures to rely on it as their primary method.

For organizations that operate multiple distinct entities under the same database (e.g., a hospital and a school sharing a campus but using different EINs), NXT’s tax statement email functionality lacks key capabilities. Donors who give to the school, but not the hospital, will receive a tax statement with the hospital information in the header, including the hospital's EIN. This causes immense confusion and frustration. Users are forced to rely on the database statements (which cannot be emailed).

Also - for organizations that have specific funds that are not tax deductible (e.g. a fund for school merchandise purchases or a raffle) these gifts are not included. Yes, the receipt amount is listed as $0.00, but it would be easier to remove those specific "donations" altogether, to avoid confusion.

In Database view, you have the ability to filter out specific gifts based on gift appeals, funds, campaigns, etc. - adding this functionality alone will help immensely.
