Cannot add new actions - in web or db view

is anyone having trouble adding actions in RE? Web view gives us 'an unexpected error occurred' and a screen shot from the error I'm getting in DB view is below.

You’ve probably already tried this, but just in case it helps:

Sign out of NXT
Clear your cache/history
Try an incognito/private browser window

If it’s still being stubborn after that, Support is your best next stop — they can (maybe!) peek behind the scenes and look into the specific ODBC error codes.

The fact that it is happening in DBV & WV tells me it is something more than just a cache issue. Does this happen with multiple constituents or just one?

it was happening with just one and it is both views…which is strange…I did put in a ticket was just wondering if anyone else has been having this issue

You could try searching the specific error message in google - not in Knowledgebase to see if you can find out anything. I hope you can get it resolved! Let us know what you find out.

this is what google is saying:

The "cannot insert duplicate key row in object" error in Raiser's Edge typically indicates an issue with a unique identifier in the underlying database

. This often happens when the system tries to assign an ID that is already in use or expects a unique value for a field that contains a duplicate

to me that means it is trying to reuse an action import ID that already exists?! I know we had some issue a year or so ago with participant records getting created in WV being dupes of DBV records

generally db error like the one you see can be easily handled by a good Exit Sign Out of RE database view app.

if that didn't work, then there potentially can be a data corruption on the specific constituent record, if your error persist, provide the constituent record id and the error message for them to help fix.

In my continuing action saga…we are still not able to add individual actions via either view (WV or DBV)

I tried a global action and that was the strangest as about 15 out of 200 added and then it crashed my system

So then I tried and import - and that worked! And once I got the action on the record I was able to open and edit it

My ticket with BB Support is still open and I think they are stumped as they are 'looking into it'

We got it fixed!!

Had to run the Regenerate Import ID's link plugin - selecting both Actions and Records. Both DBV and WV are now working again.
