Hi, I am working with Datarails to build our financial queries via the API's. Income statement working great from Distribution. We can't get the Balance sheet to work for the Summaries. Debit and credits in each period work, but not the beginning balance. Any thoughts?

    @Brian Riesen Hi Brian. Looking for advice or thoughts on why we might not be seeing the right balances on the balance sheet looking at the end points. I am thinking it has something to do with either optimizing the account or monthly closing of the account. We see the debits and credits in the ledger summary and some of the starting balances are correct, but others are not.

    @Tim McNair - apologies for the delayed response here, but here's what I heard back from my internal teams.
    They said it likely has to do with closing fiscal years and they recommended contacting support. They should troubleshoot this like normal, and if it's an issue they can't address on the front end they may ask you to provide the API JSON file and data backup.

    @Tim McNair great to hear it was sorted out. If you have anything you can share regarding what the problem was it might help other community members who might experience the same issue in the future.

    @Brian Riesen Not quite sure as Datarails did the heavy lifting, but I think it had to do with timing on their call to the API endpoint and setting the right pattern with the Start, Get, etc for the End point. We had to build the starting balance and then each period when called.

    @Tim McNair gotcha, that's helpful. Sounds like it was basically a ‘putting the cart before the horse’ scenario, not being able to call data that does not exist yet.

    Hi Tim,

    Thanks for posting here. Would love to hear about your experience using the SKY API to connect to Blackabaud. We are working through challenges in connecting project IDs and other dimensions and appreciate input from another Blackbaud <> Datarails user.
