Any reason why I can't query on "planned gift" gift type anymore? We have a number of constituents who have that gift type in their records and I need to be able to identify who they are?

Is there something I am missing?

    The Planned Gift Type is available in Query under gifts, so I did not understand why you cannot query off of it. You can query off of it in a constituent or gift query. Where exactly are you doing this?

    @Joe Moretti I am creating a gift query. When I go to edit the "Gift Type" field criteria of the query, Planned Gift is not an option available.

    Should it still be there?

    This is my gift query and Planned Gift is an option. We do have the Planned Gift Module.

    @Alex Bloomer the likely situation you are having is you are not looking at Gift Type field. I have seen this before with some organization where they have a "Gift Type" gift attribute, in some rare case, your org may have renamed a field that was something else before and named it "Gift Type".

    So what you want to make sure is, you are selecting the Gift Type field that is directly "under" the "Gift Information" section

    If you go to add a new gift is "Planned Gift" an option within the drop-down? The planned gift option is apart of an add-on feature in RE NXT. Curious if this was maybe dropped from your contract or something.

    @Austen Brown the drop down option is not available in both re7 or nxt.

    @Joe Moretti I don't believe we have the planned giving module… is that a newer feature? Can we only report on planned gifts with this add-on?

    The Planned Giving Module (very simple) has been around for a long time. You could possibly report on planned gifts if you could those gifts properly by either a gift subtype or attribute, but it can be trickly, since Planned Gifts are not normally counted in financial reports until the money actually comes in. So without that gift type of Planned Gift it can be trickly. You could use the gift type of Other, only if you are not using that at all. But you will still need to have some coding for when those planned gifts are realized. It will make your reporting a little more complicated if things are not coded really well. If you ORG is getting many Planned Gifts and you have a Planned Giving person, it is best to get that module. It is not that expensive and one of the better modules from Blackbaud. AND they have specific report just for that module,
