Query not listing soft credit donors

I’ve been waiting for an agent for a ½ hour so I thought I'd ask the community for assistance. I cannot figure out why soft credits donors are not listed in my constituent query. If I select recipients to have only the soft credit recipient selected for gifts with soft credits, the query is blank. If I select both to have both the soft credit recipient and the hard credit donor selected for gifts, and soft credits, only the donor appears.

I would look at a record where you expect to see a soft-credit to see if it is actually soft-credited. With no results, on SC only, it sounds like perhaps gifts did not get soft-credited. First check to make, IMO.

  • Thanks. I added the soft credit donor before running the query. I'll have the agent look at the query to make sure it's correct.

Once you know the SC exists, are your date ranges, filters correct? A mistyped digit in a date range can mess one up..

  • Can you screen shot your query criteria?

  • This is the same issue I'm having. The query selects lots of gifts/pledges/payments, but it isn't selecting soft credits. It doesn't matter that in the export I am saying to give credit to both, because they aren't even being selected in the query. Sometimes the credit comes from a spouse, sometimes from a donor-advised fund. Doesn't matter; it isn't selected. Here are my criteria:

I wonder how long this has been going on! Well, suggestions would be welcome, thanks.

@peggy In your query try crediting to both there. If Mrs. Smith is not in your group/query of records, I odn't think she will pull in records for Export. ??? Tools > Query Options

your query is the reason for what shows up and what does not.

Your query requires constituency Code of Alum Grad or Alum Non-Grad, which is a constituent level info. Your other criteria are gift level info so not "matter" for the soft credit piece.

If a gift is direct credit to ABC and soft credit to DEF, using soft credit option of "Both" will show both ABC and DEF each on their own row "normally". However, if ABC have Alum Grad and DEF does not, then DEF will not show up.

  • Oh. My. Gosh. Thank you so much, JoAnn Strommen, and may you have a wonderful day.
