Import End Date for Former Solicitors

Hi everyone,

Currently looking for an import tutorial that would help in adding end dates to former solicitors and updating their solicitor type as well. Any help would be appreciated!

We have a few that we have to update and would rather not do it manually if possible.

Thanks!

@Bryan Alfaro This can be done, but you need several Import IDs in your file in order to do so.

    1. Constituent Import ID - this is the donor
    2. Solicitor Relationship Import ID - this is the import ID for the Solicitor Relationship
    3. Solicitor Link - this is the Constituent Import ID for the Solicitor

Then, you can add the column for the Type and the End Date.

You can also use a Global Change as long as you can query on all of the records that you want to change.

Alternatively, you can mark the former Solicitors as Inactive and when you save the constituent record, you will be prompted to add an end date. This will not change the type though.

These are the articles I have used to do this.

Attached is a sample file I use to do just this. If you are just “downgrading” you actually do not need the ASRLink or Solicitor link that @Christine Robertson mentioned. I am also including a screen shot of the export I use to get the ids out that are needed for this process. Just add your end date and updated solicitor type and you should be good to go.

  • @Christine Robertson Thank you!! We decided there was no need to change the solicitor type. But changing the Solicitor to Inactive was very helpful.
