Applying an appeal to certain records

Hi there,


New here, but not to Raiser's edge. I am new to being able to mass edit things and just being given authority to figure things out on my own. Anywho, currently unable to get the importomatic training for another mass import, but in the meantime I have a list of 100 or so people that I'd like to apply an appeal for. Is there a way that I can potentially make a query and mass add to these individuals records, the particular appeal ? Seems like I can maybe do something via Admin and the mass change feature. But not to sure.

    Yes, you can do this. Do you have a unique identifier such as the Import ID or Constituent Id? Or do you already have a query of the names? If yes then go to Admin > Globally Add Records > Add: Appeal > Include: select your query > Appeal Information: Appeal: choose the appeal Date: enter your date the appeal was sent or adding the appeal Package: choose the package if used > Save I also choose to Update number solicited by checking the box and also Create exception query > Add Now


    Be sure to review everything you have selected.

    Seconding what Jenny Stephens‍ said. It's also helpful to output a control report which contains the info for what you've changed, in case you need to go back and review after the fact. Good luck on your new role! Exploring and "figuring things out" in the database is the really fun part. ?

    I don't have the import ID's but I do have it set up as a query so it will pull the constituents from there. Ahhh thank you both for this. I've been struggling with some of these things and so happy Blackbaud community is here. I will try this out today, and hopefully its successful. Thank you Faith Murray‍ as well for your response.


    I definitely have questions about Import ID's but a topic for another thread after this. :)
