Core, ConnectRE and Raiser's Edge Users: Address Changes

Hello Everyone!

I am noticing that when I run ConnectRE and there have been address changes in Core, some things about the address appear different in Raiser's Edge. For example, and probably the most annoying, is that it will change directional data like NE, SW, etc, to Ne and Sw (making the second letter lowercase). Also, occasionally, addresses will import over and not include the state.

Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?

  • @Hayden Wheeler YES! REConnect doesn't seem to translate addresses well. We have even noticed that there is NO difference between Core & RE address but we have to process records knowing that a duplicate address will be added to the record as there is NO WAY to select what records get processed or not. Then we have to manually remove the duplicate address from the constituents record - very frustrating! But better than the alternative to constantly export import ?

  • @Kathy Hannon glad to know we aren't the only ones struggling with data processing in ConnectRE. Hopefully, they will make some updates soon to make it easier.

  • @Hayden Wheeler - definitely an area that needs to be addressed. When Address Finder updates someone's record in Raiser's Edge by adding the four digit zip or changing Avenue to Ave - then the next time I run ConnectRE - the updated address is copied to previous and the K-12 address is entered as “new”.
We have some records with over 10 addresses on them. I used to try to remove them - and have since decided it's not worth it until they fix this issue.

Hi @Hayden Wheeler if the address in Education Managment (Core) does not have a Country the State will be deleted from Raiser's Edge.

The Data Integration for Connect Raiser's Edge guide outlines what happens to date in RE if it does not exist on the record in Education Managment (Core).
