Setting a timeframe within an event registration part?

We are new BBNC clients and are rolling out the first phase of our community with an event registration project. Does anyone know if there's a way to specify a date within the registration part that will automatically inactivate the registration process when the registration period ends? Thanks!

    You can set an expiration date for the part under "properties" and "scheduling"

    Would you happen to know where in Raiser's Edge we need to go to create a “Registration is closed for this event. Please contact ….” message that will display when the registration part expires? I was told that it's possible to do, but it has to be configured on the event in the RE side.
