Portfolio Composition and Prospect Management

I am the Prospect Management department at my org, and have been struggling to find a best practice/industry standard recipe for fundraiser portfolio composition. We have vague ideas of what ratio of classifications (capacity) and statuses (stage in donor cycle) should exist for junior, middle, and senior fundraisers, but haven't been able to find a standard set of metrics. Does anyone have any data like that they could share?
