Reschedule Ticket Fee

Is there a way to attach a fee to a “reschedule ticket” action? If not, how does your org handle this process?

Ideally the “fee” would be automatic, but given I can't find any documentation about an “exchange fee” or “reschedule ticket fee”.

The current thought is to create two ticket prices for a given event, “normal” and “exchange”, with the exchange price higher than the normal. When a patron wants to exchange, we'd have to do a refund, and choose the different ticket price forcing a balance due. (And then add a note type to the sales order, since Altru doesn't support a querying rescheduled tickets).

While doable, this is a cumbersome number of tickets for staff, especially given we're an outdoor venue and often get weather-related exchanges in large batches. We're also unclear what happens if the order were placed online with a credit card. Would the CC be refunded the original ticket price and then charged the full exchange price, or would just the difference be billed?
