Temporary Sales Tax Holiday on eligible items only?
My state (Virginia) periodically has a Sales Tax Holiday in which sales tax collection is temporarily suspended on certain items. Typically, we receive very little advance notice (48 hours). I have not been able to find a strategy that will allow me to turn sales tax on / off for only certain items. For example, I would like to “tag” eligible items with a note, and then turn off taxation for the weekend on those tagged items. Any idea how to accomplish this?
