Link Actions and Opportunities to Events

When creating actions or Opportunities through NXT, we want to be able to show the connection to a specific event. Is there a way to do this maybe by adding the Event Lookup ID onto these forms? Or something else?

    @Mike Pasqua There is no way to connect an action or opportunity directly to an event, but you can add the event name into the proposal name and as far as actions go, include that in the note section of the action,

    I second Joe's response below. We standardized Opportunity names to match the Event name, and the Description of the Action note. The trouble comes when you need to pull a report from free-text fields like these.

    If you need to connect the two for reporting purposes and be able to do lookups, you might consider Custom Fields on the Opportunity. I've done that before to link Constituent Actions to an Event, but the same would apply for any Custom Field. The category was “Event ID” and then the Event ID was in the description.

    That might be a little “extra” given your situation. I like the idea of using Opportunity Purpose or some other field that already exists on the the Opportunity as well.
