What’s New: K12 Product Updates For May 1

Published
May is a big month for us here working on the Education Management Suite of products at Blackbaud. We’ll have more to say in a few weeks, but for now, our first update is ready to go live tomorrow on May 1.

We have a little something for everyone in this release, especially for schools using the Academics product. School website, Enrollment management, and Core also have a few things to say this month so let’s not waste any more time and check out some of the bigger pieces to this release.

Here are just a few of the features arriving on May 1 within release 14.05

Enrollment management: New School form content! When editing school form settings, a new field called Checklist Recipients gives admission managers a location to check out recipients that have automatically been added from a checklist. Not only that, they can see the users that the form is being sent to, who can sign it, and which student the form is in regards to.

Speaking of School Forms, admissions managers can also now associate a school form with a Checklist by using the new School Form type when editing or adding a new step.

Academics: Report Card and Transcript Builder Improvements! We have lots to share this month in regards to our Report Card and Transcript builders. New functionality and quality of life updates have been put in place to hopefully make your journey a bit smoother.
Not only have we improved the drag and drop response time and when adding new sections, but we’ve also expanded the left navigation by default.

New fields have also been added to the default Student header like their name, preferred address, birth date and more. We’ve also created a default school header which includes the school name, address, and phone number by default.

And that’s not all there is to this update! If you prefer a visual rundown of 14.05, we have our monthly release video standing by to guide you through everything in this release. While you’re there, we’d love it if you gave us a like on the video and don’t forget to subscribe to our channel for all our latest video content.

Unable to watch the video on YouTube? We have you covered as this release video has also been posted to our other channel located on the Wistia platform.

As I hinted at in the last release update blog, we’re not done with new content in May. Later this month, we’ll have a bonus release and you can bet that we’ll have all the details for you as usual. So until then, make sure to come back next week as we have more great content lined up for you.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and checking out our content here in the K-12 Community! Leave a like and a comment below if you have any questions, comments, or just want to say hey!

I’ll see you next week for all new content.

Hey everyone! Thanks for letting us know about Tuition management showing up, Julie! We did push out a fix yesterday after being alerted to the issue. Needless to say, it appeared a little earlier than we would have liked.

We have been working on our next generation tuition management capability and this was an inadvertent sneak peek. You can learn more in our next quarterly roadmap update webinar which is scheduled for May 28th and we’ll have a registration link available early next week which will be posted in our K12 weekly newsletter.

We could briefly see Tuition Management, but it's disappeared again today.
I see Tuition Management has been added to the Blackbaud Education Management System in the drop down of apps in the upper right.  When is this going to be active and whats in store?
